Q3 Langley Update – August 22nd 2016

I hope all students and families are having an enjoyable holiday. We thought it would be a good idea to provide you with a short update on progress of Q3 Langley as we get very close to opening!

The building is on track to open – I am sure you have seen the boards have been removed. Our site staff have visited today to run through the building logistics and I can confirm that everything is on schedule for the builders to hand over the keys to us on the 1st of September.

I hope students have been excited to get their hands on their uniform from Mr Oakes. We will not be issuing any P.E. bags as we want to trial students attending the Academy in their kit on a Wednesday for the whole day. This will be a trial that we will review at half-term.

We are having some difficulties with Parent Pay – and are working hard to resolve these ASAP. It may be the case that students have to bring cash in to pay for their Family Lunch for the first week. We will confirm whether this is the case by the beginning of September.

How is the Summer Challenge work coming along? I trust students and families have engaged with the tasks – certainly in my house we’ve been glued to the Olympics and celebrated the wonderful achievements of Team GB! We have sent out the Social Design subject work books – if you have not received this please use the contact details section on the website to let us know.

The whole staff team – Learning Consultants and Associate Staff can’t wait to welcome all our new students at 8am on Tuesday 6th September – please remember to bring all your Q3 Langley bags issued during transition week, your equipment as directed and your completed Summer Challenge and Subject Workbooks as this will form part of the activities on the first day.
